Skilled tradespeople are our most valuable asset and we are strong advocates of mentoring and the apprenticeship model.
Also, the Canadian government recognizes the shortage of skilled tradespeople and is encouraging immigration and work visas for skilled workers from abroad.
At Westcor Builders, we support and encourage apprenticeship training on the path to becoming a certified journeyperson. We also provide in house training for our workers including:
- Government recognized upgrade training that has allowed many fields experienced tradespeople to become certified journeypersons.
- Seminars on proper tool and equipment use.
- Certification for equipment such as man-lifts and powder activated tools.
We are committed to apprenticeship training and provide support and incentive for our tradespeople to complete their certification.
